We are registered with the Office of Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) which inspects and regulates services which care for children and young people, and those providing education and skills for learners of all ages. So this is how we achieve Child Protection is included in everything we do …
DBS/CRB Checks
Whilst at Bath Theatre School all children will always be in the presence of someone who has been checked by the Disclosing & Barring Service (DBS) / Criminal Record Bureau (CRB), so you can rest assured that your child will be safe.
Respect & Discipline
Bath Theatre School prides itself on providing high quality teaching, culminating in a nationally recognised qualification and an end of year production, all delivered in a fun and interesting environment.
In order to achieve this, respect, discipline and good behaviour are incredibly important. This is not only important to help students develop as individuals but also to ensure the learning experiences of other students are not detrimentally impacted. We therefore hold regular meetings to discuss student attitude and behaviour and we have someone who has overall responsibility for behaviour related issues, meaning that should an issue arise we can liaise appropriately and consistently between staff and parents/guardians.
Welfare
If at any time your child has a welfare related issue whilst at Bath Theatre School, we have a member of staff on hand to help. If a child should become unwell whilst in our care, our designated welfare officer will make contact with the child’s parent/guardian and, if appropriate, obtain further medical assistance.
First Aid
A member of staff who is trained in First Aid will always be on hand should an emergency arise.
